Ruby On Rails Contract Developer

Budget: $10,000 +

We're hiring a Lead Developer for a real estate investing platform (55,000 members/1,000,000 monthly page views) built on Ruby on Rails.

We're looking for someone who has coding skills, creativity, reliability, the ability to keep deadlines, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to share their opinions. We're looking for someone who can provide between 20 - 30 hours for this contract telecommute position.

Skills:

Your duties will be to develop, design, test and deploy new features for the website (both front and back end)

You will need to be well versed in the technologies that comprise the environment hosting the app (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Memcached, Phusion Passenger / mod_rails).

Familiarity with Capistrano, Git, GitHub, SVN, Unfuddle, GetExceptional, NewRelic

Experience in managing servers and handling scalability
CSS (comfortable chopping a PSD)
HTML/Javascript/AJAX/MySQL
Experience with scripting
Understanding of web based protocols such as HTTP, SSL, SSH, SFTP
Strong database skills (creation, optiimization, etc.)
Knowledge of important protocols such as OAuth
Knowledge of APIs - both implementation and creation
