A national educational company based in Santa Monica, CA, is searching for an experienced web designer that lives in or near Los Angeles. Applicants who are unable to work on-site in Santa Monica will not be considered. We are searching for someone with a great eye for web design and excellent technical skills. If you have experience designing and building visually stunning e-commerce websites, we are looking for you.

Job requirements:
• 5+ years front end web development experience
• Expert proficiency with Standard Compliant Websites including CSS based-layouts
• Expert proficiency in CSS
• Comfortable working in ASP.NET environment including Master Pages (no coding is required)
• Strong graphic design skills. Creation of new graphic assets, including logos, as part of the website development and creation process will be required.
• Intermediate Proficiency in javascript
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Expert proficiency of Adobe Photoshop
• Knowledge of cross-browser issues
• Attention to detail
• An eye for UI Design
• Team player, able to communicate issues effectively and solve problems creatively.
• Availability. You will be working either remotely or on-site, whatever the project requires. You have to be flexible and available at all times, which is why applicants must live within driving distance of our Santa Monica office.

Other Desired Skills:
• Comfortable working with SVN source control
• Flash design experience a big plus

Job Responsibilities:
- Reports to: CTO, VP and Director of Business Development
- Concept web designs including splash pages, corporate websites, and product websites
- Create graphic assets for websites
- Work with Director of Biz Dev, VP, CTO, and html developers to create concepts and new websites
- Graphic design may also include logo design for company and product merchandise
- Continue to improve current website design and user experience
- Use SEO techniques to improve website visibility
- Work with in-house developers to build new sites, improve upon existing sites and optimize seo exposure

This is a temporary contract position that can definitely turn into a permanent position for the right candidate.
