Overview of Role viagogo – the international ticket exchange– is growing quickly and is looking to hire ambitious, intelligent, and talented people to help expand our growing North American business out of San Francisco. The Senior Software Engineer will take on and lead software projects critical to the growth and success of the company. The Engineer’s role will be to build, oversee, and improve internal and external software tools to help with the business, including in-house point of sale systems, integration with channel partners, and creation of pricing tools. Projects will range from quick-and-dirty tools to full-scale system implementations. This role offers a unique opportunity for candidates to take on big responsibilities and directly affect our success. You will be the first technology employee in North America, and you’ll be responsible for owning and executing on local projects – of course we’ll hope to build a team around you as the company grows. You’ll build on your strengths, develop new skills, and be part of the core team that expands viagogo’s growing presence in North America. - Located in or around the San Francisco Bay Area
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Designing, creating, and maintaining software applications, including Windows desktop applications, ecommerce websites, intranet, smart client applications and support tools.
- Operational support of tools and ecommerce websites handling thousands of transactions per day.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred, other Engineering / hard sciences backgrounds ok
- Software developer with strong C# programming skills and web experience
- 3+ years experience in the development of complex, high volume applications using C#, ASP.NET, the .NET Framework, and SQL Server
- 3+ years of programming experience at least 3 of which are C#
- A thought leader and producer of tangible results (fully implemented, not just designed or specified)
- Experience and/or interest in the travel, music, sports, or hospitality industries
- Experience in e-commerce and/or ticketing
- Ideal candidate would have a blend of experience from established technology companies and start-ups
