Award-winning, L.A.-based BLITZ Agency has an immediate opening for an extremely talented, advanced Flash designer who can create incredible, consumer-oriented web sites for high profile clients. This person must be able to work independently and collaboratively with a talented interactive design team. Professionalism and a great attitude are essential, as this person works closely with others and has some client contact. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is willing to expand beyond their comfort zone, and has a broad range of styles that meet our general client and audience needs. RESPONSIBILITIES • At least three to five years’ experience as a Flash designer in an agency environment; • Strong skills in Flash development methodologies (i.e. ActionScript OOP implementation, component development, XML communication, etc.) and quality assurance; • Understanding of the strengths and limitations of Flash, After Effects, QuickTime, Director, and ImageReady; • Demonstrated ability to program complex Flash web sites and/or Flash games; other programming experience helpful; • An understanding of information architecture and hierarchy; • Comprehensive understanding of interactivity and the Web; • Passion for design and eagerness to collaborate with other creative people; • Passion for and commitment to the profession of visual communication; • Comprehensive knowledge of the Macromedia product range and competing toolsets; • Flash animation, video and design knowledge and expertise; • Creative toolset knowledge and expertise (i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.); • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle diverse demands; • Proven aptitude for quick creative and technical thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines; • Can achieve desired effects with Flash rapidly and understands the implications of technical decisions; • Experience with variable driven design; • Experience using ActionScript and understanding of basic JavaScript; • Understanding of theories related to interface design and usability.
