Freelance Web Design / WordPress / PHP Developer

Budget: $2,500 to $5,000

A web development professional in business for 15 years, I am looking for a web developer, with a strong design–oriented portfolio and WordPress Theme customization skills to assist me with ongoing client development and maintenance projects.  Emphasis will be on full front end site template development from an existing creative brief, wireframe and content map (although in some cases development of these preliminary tools may also be required).  We are hoping to develop an ongoing relationship with a local Ontario or Canadian freelancer that will include smaller maintenance tasks as well as full development projects.   

What I require in an ideal web development freelancer

• Exemplary Creative Design Skills.
  
• WordPress Development including Child Theme and Plugin Customization.
  
• Experience with (or interest in) WooCommerce and its associated Add-ons.
  
• Experience and interest in development of cross-platform web front end that gives smooth experience in Desktop, Tablet or Mobile formats.
  
• Experience of object oriented programming / modular programming (PHP in particular, ASP Classic is an asset).
  
• Front-end development including HTML/XHTML, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery & CSS, mainly LAMP environment.
  
• Experience setting up and working with MySQL  databases.
  
• Experience or familiarity with WCAG 2.0.
  
• Superb communication skills, both oral and written English, bilingualism an asset.
  
• Understanding of content, blogging and social media publishing platforms.
  
• Understanding of web standards and best practices including responsive design.
  
• Fundamental knowledge of analytics and SEO best practice.
  
• Strong organization, self-motivation, and ability to predict and achieve set timelines for delivery.
  
• Superb problem solving ability, with a knack for innovation in web and mobile communication.
  

• You will be asked to sign back a confidentiality and non-competition agreement.
  
• You will be given details of an assignment and asked to return a budget or time estimate.
  
• We will agree on a specific hourly rate or a contract rate for a specific assignment.
  
• We expect some initial project communication time and any “skill learning time” to be excluded from billing.
  
• Work done on an hourly rate is to be billed by the minute and to include to us a detailed timesheet (which is how we bill our clients) and is payed Net 30 days (or sooner, or as may be agreed).
