Avex Designs is a start-up web and mobile design / development studio located on Madison Ave. in NYC. We are currently looking for freelance web designers to join our creative and development team for regular and ongoing projects. We work with a wide variety of clientele. From start-ups and small businesses to large companies and marketing agencies.
Some of our specialities include: WordPress websites, mobile applications, Tumblr blogs, ecommerce solutions, branding, social media marketing and digital campaigns.
About The PositionWeb Designer with some front-end experience as a plus. You will work side-by-side with the lead creative director / owner, as well as other freelancers, to design web and mobile applications for a variety of clientele.

Create wireframes
Design web and mobile UX
Create branding and style guides
Source assets
Direct contact with clients

About The Candidate You have read "Designing With Web Standards" and everything from A Book Apart. Your RSS reader is filled with feeds from Smashing Magazine, CSS Tricks and A List Apart. You understand the importance of white space, typography and color choices. Even if you're not a front-end developer, you know how to design for the web.
The ideal candidate brings a modern sensibility and beautiful typography to create usable and visually compelling designs, and should be able to work well under clear direction. Candidate must have experience designing and adhering to wireframes and style guides, working efficiently and effectively in PhotoShop and Illustrator and specking their work for developers.

3+ years experience
Solid Portfolio
Proficient in Photoshop
Experience with Grids
Experience with Responsive Design
HTML, jQuery, CSS a huge plus
WordPress...an even bigger plus
