Keymind, a Division of Axiom Resource Management, Inc., is a professional consulting and development firm based in Northern Virginia. Our projects cover a broad spectrum, from custom Web and application development to standard graphic support, for a wide range of customers.

We currently have two excellent opportunities for designers with strong graphic and usability experience who are dynamic, intelligent, and independently motivated! In this contract position, the UI Designers will work with the development team to create an intuitively designed, semi-functional rapid prototype of a complex workflow system. These positions will run about six months with the potential to become a full-time.

A successful UI Designer at Keymind: • Confidently translates requirements, use cases, prototypes, and/or abstract conceptual ideas into inventive user interfaces. • Creates unique and inspiring design compositions using visual design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator. • Understands how interfaces integrate with dynamic, Web-based applications and is able to appropriately document the design for integration by the development team. • Is adept at developing HTML or XHTML templates, CSS files and necessary image assets that meet Section 508 guidelines. HTML and CSS code quality is exceptional and easily scalable. • Is detail-oriented with strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. • Thrives in a collaborative, team environment, but is just as comfortable working independently. • Is an expert with Photoshop, Illustrator and other design software and preferably has experience with Flash, ActionScripting, JavaScript, AJAX; libraries such as jQuery; and/or server-side code such as ColdFusion, PHP or Ruby on Rails.

Position requirements include: • A minimum of 5 years related experience. • A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. • Previous experience with rapid web prototyping is greatly preferred. • Must be prepared to submit resume and URLs and/or design samples prior to interview.
