Freelancers:
We are launching a new classifieds portal destination. The portal includes the four major vehicle industries: Autos, Boats, RVs, and Powersports (ATVs, Motorcycles, PWCs, etc).
The website is currently under development and the provided markup will be integrated into the website prior to launch. The website is being built on a custom CMS, w/ absolutely no limitations or constraints regarding use or placement of markup. Anything goes!
The deliverable must adhere ot the strictest web standards and the following high-level objectives must be met:
- XHTML 4.01 Strict (Strict prefered but Transitional permissible if required) - External CSS - Cross platform, cross-browser compliant (CSS-capable and standards-compliant browsers only – no need for NN4) - Lightweight and optimized - Semantic and well structured
The most important elements of style are:
- Good color choices - Smooth and classy typography - Clean lines – grid layout prefered - Iconography (latest 3D style Vista, XP, or Mac-style prefered)
The website needs to portray a clean style, as if the website were an industry approved or government-sanctioned website that inspires confidence in users. Eye-catching features can be kept to a minimum but the details, smoothing, and edges are of premium importance.
Specifically, the website (in its current architecture) needs the following:
Common areas (header, footer, main navigation) 13 Custom page layouts (Search, Login, List, Edit, View, etc.) 8 Common page widgets (Factoids, Downloads, News, etc.) Iconography Typography Colors Appropriate stock photography choices
Purchase of licenses for the use of fonts, stock photography or iconography (if required) must be made by VehicleMLS.com so proper record-keeping can be documented and maintained.
The maximum budget for this design project is a firm 5K. Quotes exceeding this amount slightly will still be reviewed however quotes coming in under this amount will be considered a better fit. Offering a quote of $3,000 is great but will not guarantee the business. Quality is most important but saving money is still a close second!
The final deliverable is needed no later than the end of July (7/31/2008) so that proper implementation time is available for the development team and user testing can be completed before the launch date of Sept 1.
